Camping At Imbil

We are back home, back into reality of our everyday routine and being hooked to a phone, the computer, busy busy busy...Back to sleep late but still having to wake up early!
Back to smelling better, but missing the smell of the camp fire...
I think we are going to have to plan more camping trips away.

We had a great time.

Morning swim, Tullula napping and us enjoying having nothing to do, but sit and read, chat, laze about, and the afternnon walk/hike before going back to camp to start the evening ritual of a nice camp fire and an early dinner for an even earlier bed time!
To be up at sunrise to hear the birds sing...
It was really nice!

I have a few video's about to come of the trip!

Video- Tullula at Home!

A couple of weeks ago, Tullula was unwell and could not go to day care!
Well, to be honest she was really fine, and happy and full of life, but had all these little blisters on her hands, around her mouth, one her arms, and a terrible nappy rash! I took her to two different doctors and they were not really able to tell me what it was, only that is was a Virus, thus possibly contagious!!!
So, the whole week, she sayed at home with I, and I with her!!
Well, I did take her to Tafe (college) with me, as I did not want to miss my weekly massage class!!!

So I decieded to make a little video of her at home...I have so so many clips!!!
Here is a little one. Hope you enjoy it!

Tuesday Tullula

I just have been feeling like Tullula is growing so fast...She really is starting to no longer be a baby, but a little girl...So I though I should remember the days and Post a Tuesday Tullula  with a photo from her first month...On this shot we was not yet a month...
She sure has changed...

Saturday 24 September 2011

His name is Teddy!

As first time parents, we tend to worry a bit too much about bumps, falls and all that stuff!!
But one time we did not really worry on the spot but two days later!! And Boy oh boy what a story it turned out to be!

On the Wednesday, I was carrying Tullula on my hip, and somehow as I walked down the hall way, I mis-judge the space we had, and "BANG" Tullula's head hit the corner of the concrete wall.
She cried and VERY quickly a bump/lump on her head formed!!!
We got her to calm down and applied ice to her head...
The day went on...

But on Friday evening, she vomits, twice...For no apparent reason!!! I worry a bit, and don't sleep well that night...But live still goes on...

Then on Sunday, she is walking around nudie, and we see that she is about to do a #2, so quickly we get the potty out...And let me tell you, what came out was a huge surprise!!!
very much like clay, and very pale...Now we worry, and start looking up on the internet for some info as to what could that mean???!!!!!
What we find is not very reassuring, "liver problems" "kidney malfunction"...Ok, we need to worry now!!
So we call the 13Health Info line, and ask..The lady we talk to says, that its nothing, that we just need to monitor Tullula...So we hang up...yet, we are still not satisfied, and put all the events together and start to think of a possible concussion!!!
So we call back the Health Info Line, this time with more details of the week, yet stephen and I can't agree on the date at witch she got her head bumped!!! But the lady on the line this time, says that we need to take her to the Hospital right away...
Its about 6; 7pm buy now...And off we go to the Hospital, Emergencies!

We walk in the with a baby with maybe a concussion???
So the wait is not very long...but Tullula really is acting well...well I know that she is not a 100%, but still she is not acting like a really sick child...The doctors a confused!
To my greatest surprise, they are not even interested at looking at the pretty stool sample I have in my bag...that does not worry them at all!!!

So, they decide to do some test. Urine test!!
So here we are in Observation, Tullula with a back attached to her, to catch the Urine!! Us desperately trying to get her to drink, sip, anything but get some fluid and wee, PLEASE!!!

We have never been so happy to finally see her fill that little bag in between her legs!
And off it goes to the Lab...But for sure it comes back positive...Yet the doctor is not satisfied, as these things can get infected with contact with the skin. So they want to do a Urethral Catheterization.
It does not sound very good or pleasant but we need to know, so we go ahead with it!!!
Hoping that there will be something in the bladder!!!

A team of 3 nurses come to do the procedure, and I can tell you it was not nice...And the worst part was that there was nothing coming out!
So they stop...And leave us alone...Tullula with another bag in between her legs... We can hear the doctor and nurses talking about what to do next....They don't want to do another Urethral Catheterization.

So we get sent home, with a little sample tube for what ever gets into the bag that they leave on her...

As you can imagine we are tired...And now just suspect that she may just have a Urine Infection!!!

The next morning, Steve, drop off the sample tube, with what she did as soon at we got home the night before..They ask him to wait for the results....Positive...But we are told that again, it could of gotten infect at home...So off to Observation Tullula goes again! Another bag attached to her...Its a long wait...She even get her very first pop sickle!!! That I eat, as she is not interested!!
The doctor tell me that if this bag come back Positive again, that this time we will HAVE do to another Urethral Catheterization
And yes, that bag too came back Positive!!!
But they once again discuss it all, and really don't want to have to do another procedure on Tullula, its so unpleasant for them, ext ext....
So we get sent home, and told we have to just keep a close observation on Tullula...

Once I got home, I think all the stress of it all and the Exhaustion, I had to look at it all in a comical way...And I had a good good laugh at the fact that we started off with a Kidney/liver problem, went on to a Concussion and finished with a Positive Urine Infection and got sent home with nothing!!!

But one that Sunday Night, we did win something!! Mr Teddy.
There is this scheme, that at the hospital they give second hand teddy bear to the sick children...Something to play with, keep them busy...So we got one too...yet, up until that point Tullula had never shown any interest in her teddy's at home that have been with her ever since her birth..(the my greatest satisfaction as I don't really like teddy's) and when this little Orange with was given to her she did not really care!
But we had to take him home, as we were told that once given to a child, they go into the garbage...Hygiene and standards! So we did...
And back in the car, we saw and heard the loveliest thing...Tullula was holding the Teddy, and looking in his eye's and having one great big conversation with him...She did the same the next day...And till that day, he had been her dearest friend! Its so so sweet...And Mr Teddy is part of the family...

I encougae you to read the news article that talks about The Teddy Story .

Hit The Road!

Well really its not quite that...But I like the sound of it!!!
We are going camping for 5 days and I cant wait to be on the road!
We are not going far, just a couple of hours North, to Imbil State Park...I just want to discover where we live before we go further...
I really plan to do a few hikes in the national park thats next to it! Its gonna be great....

So I wish you all a wonderfull weekend and here is a little quote that i think is really nice:

Believe Nothing
No matter where you read it
or who said it to you
not even if I said it to you
unless it agrees with
your reason and
your own common sense.

The Little Things...that make me happy!

Decorating Home...The Toilet!
This Month, I did my very first Ten on Ten photo project that Rebekah at  "A little bit of sunshine" is doing.
And in my shots I had one of my loo..But I did not show what really makes me happy about my Loo!

Now my home is full of colours and has all sorts of bits and pieces all over.
Most of it, come from all over the world, travels I have done, souvenirs and I keep is all alive by living in that space and mind!
So, I will do a little series on the The Little Things. about my home, starting with the Loo!

Its Paris...The city where I lived for about 3 years, that I LOve and where I have left my very dear girl friends...I have so many wonderful memories of Paris and my time there...On the other wall panel is actually a Huge map of the city...I love it and It makes me happy!

Study Study and Grow!

As some of you may know/ or not, but I have been a student for the past year and a half.. Last year I did a certificate in Massage Therapies, and this year in July I started the Diploma in Remedial Massage.
I have been enjoying it very much and have learn so much.
Since Juin this year I have been working as a Massage therapist at A Perfect Blend.
Its been really good, and its such a lovelly place to work...So all could seem to be going well!
yes it is, but I think I have the Study Bug..

I went to have an Interviw at the Local Uni today, to discuss the possibilities of further studies!
It was funny cause the lady said "of course you can study" and I said "well maybe not, as I have never been to school"...Its funny how every one thinks that so interesting!!!

It has been interesting to realise that maybe in some way I am just catching up!
After all, most people spend at least 15 years of their live at school, do they not? Some more that that really!
I have been to school, let say 3 years to round it up, so technically I have still 12 years to catch up!!!
Looking good!!!
How funny is that? had a childhood of playing, learning life in a very natural way, and now Im studying or will be studing extacty what I want!!
Maybe not having been to school was a good thing!!!
I wonder....

Do you have any studying as an adult experiences to share???

Space Invader's!!!!

No, I'm not talking about Aliens!!!
I'm talking about Street Art...
When I lived in Paris, one quite Monday afternoon I decided to go to the movies for my day off. Now I just Love old "black and white" movies. So I went to one of the old theatre where all they play is old stuff!
that day I actually went to see, a Audrey Hepburn movie, I cant recall which one it was, but anyway!!!
As I sat outside waiting for the few people to line up I noticed a tall curly haired young man sitting there too, reading, somehow I felt that he was out of place, and it was obvious that he was Not French...he too came into the movies!!!
After the show, there he was again, looking for something outside, and looking a bit confused and lost. he asked me where he could catch the bus, and we started talking. he was from Holland on holidays with hi family and needed to get away so came to the movies...What had be lost I asked???
Oh his bicycle had been stolen he said!
really, that's terrible I said, and he was quite to say "oh no, he too had just found it"...he was a funny guy, and we ended up spending the rest of the day together, and in the evening we went out dancing...It was one of the many encounter of Paris i have had...Moments spend with lovely people and then life goes on!!!
He is the one that pointed out to me my very first space invader...I had never seen them before, but after that day I was too see them everywhere, and it became a passion obsession to try and find them all around Paris...
It was great fun. I know that the movement has gone beyond Paris, and it in many big city's of the world! It really cool... So here are a few of the Space Invaders that I have collected...
As for the Artists who started the Invasion, we are not too sure who he is...He does have a Book but I prefer to hunt for myself!!!

Have you ever seen one of them before??
What street art do you like?

What a Find! Shoes....

I am an avid recycler, so that means of course that I buy a lot of things from op-shops when possible!!!
I needed a little bowl and the shop I went to, were moving things around in the shed in the back where all that stuff is, so no bowl...Stephen and Tullula were waiting in the car, and somehow I spotted the shoes rack and went there...And this is what I found, these two pairs of wonderful shoes!!!
Not that I needed any more shoes, but one was $3 and the other $2; at that price I just had to get them!!!

I am very happy with my find...But I cant help but think and wonder...I really felt that I had to get them as they were super cheap, but the high heals one, I'm not sure if or when/where I will be able to wear them...But again, I thought at that price, really it does not matter!!!
It is a bit silly...Just to buy because its cheap, and actually we end up doing a lot of that in our lifes, buying things because we just feel that we have too, and maybe never using it!!!

have you done that? Did you regret?? what was it? Post a Comment below to share your story!

Cooking-Bacon and Carrot tartellets!

I really enjoy to cook, but I must admit that I suck at following receipt's!!! I really tend to cook best when I just invent something, and that's usually when we have not much left, or really when Stephen thinks we have Nothing left!!! But somehow I pull it together and have made some really good dishes...But Unfortunately most of those are going to be hard to document, as they just happen and then I'm never too sure what and how I did it!!!
So today I will just share a really simple and easy to make dish that came in a French pasty package!
I have made this many times, its great for Party's or for children!
And as i have already said, very easy to make, give it a try!!!!

Ingredients: Shortcrust pastry

                     200gr carrot's
                     50gr bacon
                     20gr slivered Almonds
20gr cheese (in France we would use Gruyere,
but here I just use tasty cheese)
1 or 2 Tablespoon Fresh heavy cream.
                     Salt and pepper!!!
You will also need, Muffin Tray, Butter and Flour!
Step 1:
Peal and dice carrots roughly. Put to boil in Pan with water until soft.

Step 2 :
Cut bacon into little squares and fry in dry pan...then also brown Almonds, set both aside!

Step 3 :
When carrot's are cooked, mash up in mixing bowl to a smooth mash consistency, ad salt and pepper to taste and add Heavy Cream.

Step 4 :
Preheat Oven to 180*, prepare Muffin trays with Shortcrust Pastry (prepare tray with butter and flour lining).

Step 5 :
Fill each muffin mould with carrot mash, then Almonds then bacon and cover with cheese. Place in oven for about 30 to 40 min...

And VOILA, its all done and its Délicieux!!!

Do let me know if you have tried it and how you went!!! Also if there is anything that you did not understand in my directions, do contact me on my facebook and Il help you out!!!

Rear Window

I just love that  Alfred Hitchcock. movie Rear Window...Actually I am a big Fan of his, but I must admit that that is one of my favourite...It's all about people watching from your window!
Of course its the kind of thing to do that's very easy in those big city's of the world, where most people live in apartment bloc's!
When I lived in Paris, I used to do just that...Sit at my balcony and see what the rest of the world was up too!!!t was great fun, and somehow made me feel close to them without even knowing them...

Well, Last night if anyone was to of done just that they would of been very surprised to see a "Sarah", dancing away, all by herself in front of the rear window...head phones on and going for it!
Yes, I danced my heart out, and it felt GREAT!!!!

Do you Dance by yourself at home???

TuesDay Tullula

She just loves to sit and watch me cook, so be it, if this is the way I am  going to get it done!

Sunday 4 September 2011

Le Jour A Papa!

Father's Day.
I guess until Tullula is old enough to celebrate it alone with her father, it is my duty to make that day happen for him. Yet, I'm very grateful that Tullula is getting to an age where she is cooperating, and it was really easy to actually make something for him this year!
At first I was just going to buy some nice t-shirt, as he is in desperate need of t-shirts, the one he has are starting to look like what the African wear, holes all over, one wonders how its still holding together!
I am very proud of him, using his things till there literally fall off his back...
So I went to a surf shop (as he is a surfer), looking for something cool for him...But all the shirts had BOLD BIG Brand LOGO written across the front of them all! No way....That's just not us...Then I was shocked at the price of a T-Shirt; $50!!! Double no Way!!!
Not going to spend half of a weeks worth of food on a single T-Shirt, only for it to have a Brand Name on it, and probably made in the same factory as the dollar shirt!!!!

So, i did just that, got one at the cheap shop, for $6 and once we got home, this is what we did!!!!

I realy thought I had some sort of textile paint, but it was no where to be found, so I just used a permanent marker!
I hope it will hold, and that he will enjoy his T-Shirt...
I wrote on there, "you are ours" and the year!

P.S: the note book was to put underneath where I was writing, just in case it was to go though!
