In my BoatHold, my father was actually the one who cooked most, but he was terrible he would taste all the time so when dinner came along, of course he did not eat!
he would just sit there, at the head of the table, with a glass of red wine, and watch us eat, with a great big smile on his face...
One of the things my dad did to teach us "life ways" (as I did not go to school), was that each week, one of us had to help out in the kitchen, and do the dishes as well on that week as a matter of fact!! I can tell you, it made us real careful of how much dishes we used!!!
So we pealed the vegetables, we cooked and two times a week we had to get up early and make bread!
It was for sure the best way to learn to cook!
