African Handbags!

I am so exited to finally have finished making these bags!
After I was just about to be done I realised that they would be even super duper better with an adjustable strap...So some shopping around...an order placed, and the adjusters finally arrived a couple of days ago...Eagerly I finished sewing them!
In time for the next Market I will be at this coming Sunday
Lucky me...And How lovely they are!
I love them all...How many hand bags can a girl have after all???
Never too many would be my answer.

So They come in 5 different colours and the insides are a one tone cotton lining, and the lining is different every time, some yellow, red, blue or green...All to mix and match the outsides of course!

They close with a magnetic snap button and have an adjustable strap!
I think they really should mark the re-opening of my etsy shop!

3 little birds!

these little Birds are one of my newest creations!
My little Messenger Birds...
I mount them on drift wood that I find at the beach and have just a few little Red Seed Beads to add some colour and off they are set free to send their messages to the world, new homes!!!

I don't actually write the message...Its too personal I think who knows where these little birds are going?

I just love them!

Some have 3 little Birds, and some have two!!

Here is a close up of the Messenger Bird!

I am starting to also make a collection where one of the Birds is in a little shelter!

The shelter is a sort of nut that comes from Africa (that I bought at the Eumundi Markets) and I cut open into quarters! I had a lot of cleaning to do on the inside but they are clean and create a great shelter for my Little Messenger Birds!

My Market- Stall!

I set myself a date, the 4th of November! I just had to otherwise I would of just continued on saying "I am not quite ready, still want to make this or that, ext..."
So on the 4th of November I drove alone, to Perigian Beach, where I was to do my first market alone in about a couple of years!!!
I had a great stop, and despite it taking me forever to set up, and feeling a bit anxious about it all, I kept my cool and acted as if I had all the time in the world and set up sipping on some Chai Tea I had brought along!
I quickly got some really nice comments on my work and sales as well!

Stephen joined me later on with Tullula, and we hung out in my little space that I am very happy to finally have! I shall be doing the market now every 1st and 3rd Sundays, yes at Perigian, as its such a lovely market with a lot of original hand made work!

So if you are somewhere up this way, do come and say "Hello"
