Quilt {finished}

And its finally finished!
It was going fast in the beggining, and then in the end I missed a few craft nights, or was too tiered to go so the quilt just sat there waiting to be finished! Then I took it only to realise that I did not have enough yellow for the border, but its all sorted now and finished!
Its a great feeling, and its going to look wonderful in the bus for our 3 week trip coming up!

Now I can start think of my next Craft Night project!!

Quilt { step 6 }

OK its time to add the yellow border! After the mistake I made of cutting it, I actually have to add/sew the batting to two end's. But the other two at least were easy after I decided to undo my work and fix it up a bit! My Thursdays have been busy getting ready for my next market this Sunday!
I cant wait to have this quilt finished and start something else!!!

Quilt {not so step 6}

Hmmm yes the title does say it all, and I guess the lack of a photo as well!
I have been unable to go to Craft Night for 2 weeks now and the last time I did go, I had started to piece the backing-batting and Quilt together, but I made a mistake!!!
I did not think about the fact that I was going to have a yellow border and that it too had to have batting inside...So I cut the material, and I thought it a good idea to save material and sewed right on the edge!
Ok I messed up...
The girls and I talked about it, and really I would be able to patch up up, fix it up that way.
And went home.
Yet I kept on thinking, and was unsatisfied with that idea, sure I can not change the fact that I cut the material, and I am not going to buy some new one; its not cheap!
But I can at least shift things around to improve the situation!
So I unpicked all I had done, and thought I really should hold all my work together by doing so hand stitching!
So that's where I am at now...Just need to get in under the sewing machine!
But this Thursday we are going camping at a Festival so I shall miss Craft Night once more!
But I wont miss the next one, and I indeed to keep on moving as I have other projects in mind!!!

Quilt {step 5}

I have finished putting all the strips together. I did have to add some on either side as it was not quit long enough (I think I already said that)...So We had a debate as to what colour I should have on the back and edges and Yellow has won! So I got some Batting (I had no idea what I had to get or am sure about my purchase) but its done now and I can start putting it all together!

Quilt {step 4}

Last week I did not attend my crafty group as I had a little bit of a cold and was SO tired, so I decided to stay home and go to bed early!!
But this is  how I have gone with my quilt; I have started to sew the pieces together, made some big squares, and got so exited that I was up early on Friday and went straight to my sewing to piece it all together!
I have been amazed at how its all coming together! Amazed at what I have been able to make and how easy it all really has been!
I cant wait to get it finished!
I think another two weeks and I should be done!

Quilt {stage 3}

Now that I have pieced all the pieces together, I have been able to cut them!
The crucial part here is to keep them all in order in the sequence of the degrading colours that were done. This is what will hopefully give me a nice final pattern. I am happy with the way its going, but I am worried that it wont be big enough to cover the bed in the Bus. I still have some strips of fabric ready to sew, but I am waiting to see how I go with this first!
Next Thursday, its going to start taking shape! How exiting!!!!

Quilt {stage 2}

So I have now started to piece my quilt together.
After realise that I had cut all the strips 5inches wide and not 5cm like I was supposed too as well as really needing two more colours in the whole combination. For colours blending as well as extra length the the whole!
Really I am still unsure that I have it right, but I am trying!!!!
I now have 12 blocks of each 10 strips of coulours sewn together, I have started each one with the next colours in the sequence, thats what the book I got from the Library says I have to do to get the pattern I want! Next I shall have to iron and cut strips of 5cm again!!!
Cant wait for next Thursday Craft Night!!!

Quilt...

I have been meeting up with some girl friends every thursday night for a "Craft Night"...We all know that when a bunch of lady's get together one of the main reasons is to have a good chat!
We all sit there around the table, sipping on tea and doing what ever little project we have going, shairing tips and books!
Its fun!
We mostly go to Ana's House as her husband goes away 5 weeks at a time for work and she has had her second child and the baby is still little!

I have been working on a crochet dress,  but in good old style I have started another project. My very first Quilt! Its for our bed on in the bus. I got a book form the Library and am going to to a "trip around the world" pattern.

I shall share my progress as I go along!

What do you think of the colours??
